According to Zillow’s chief economist, home prices are likely to rise 3.5% during 2016. If you’ve been on the fence about buying a home, 2016 is the year to take the plunge. We really liked this article from CNN Money. And we hope you do, too!
1. Home prices will finally calm down
2. More homes will hit the market
3. Dirt cheap mortgages could disappear
4. Rents will still hurt
Our country’s debt to the men and women who have served and risked their lives to defend our freedom shouldn’t be limited to a single day. And it isn’t. But setting aside one day each year to honor our vets is a good tradition. Veterans Day began as “Armistice Day” on November 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. In 1926 Congress passed a resolution to make it an annual observance, and it became a national holiday beginning in 1938. So we proudly stand with all Americans, and fellow vets, on this Veterans Day to reflect, recognize, and express our gratitude for their sacrifice. To all those who’ve served, and are serving — a heartfelt, “Thank you!”

If you haven’t signed up, or if you haven’t updated your subscription since June of 2014, we’d like to recommend this free service. Alert Loudoun can sent text messages and/or emails to you in the event of local emergencies, as well as news releases, traffic information, weather alerts, school closings and delays, and more. If you want to support our military veterans, and do so with a local impact, we encourage you to read this article in the latest Loudoun Times Mirror edition, and to consider supporting this annual charity event — as a sponsor, participant, or both. The event takes place at the Purcellville Golf & Country Club on September 14th. Registration is open through August 14th. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who worked together to keep this annual tribute alive!
SmartAsset.com, a well-respected financial services website, published an article last month which highlights Loudoun as the #1 Happiest County in the United States. And this isn’t just a subjective opinion. “To quantify the quality of life in U.S. counties, SmartAsset collected data on every U.S. county with a population of at least 50,000 – 978 counties in total. For each of those counties, we looked at eight different metrics.” These metrics all fall within 4 categories: Family stability, Physical health, Personal financial health, and Economic security.
